City of Concord/Cabarrus County

Concord is the largest city in Cabarrus County and the county seat. Concord is the second-largest city in the Charlotte Metropolitan Area and is the twelfth largest city in North Carolina. I-85 crosses through the area, and I-485 is immediately adjacent as well. Concord is home to the Concord Regional Airport, the fourth busiest airport in the state. Charlotte/Douglas International Airport is only 30 miles south of Concord. After the American Airlines/US Airways merger, the Charlotte Airport will be the 2nd largest hub for the nation’s largest airline.


Historically, the Concord area was dominated by the textile industry. Recently the community has diversified its industrial base and currently houses several NASCAR related companies.
